It’s pretty hard to believe its nearly the end of July and we are still in the middle of learning how to live in “Pandemic” times. Being in the midst of shutdowns, restarts, and reorganizing for businesses of every type, we have had to learn another way of being ahd interacting in the world. New social and digital rules of etiquette when interacting online, via Zoom etc. have essentially been learned in a crash course of sorts. Not nearly enough time was given for us to establish effective habits that may keep our business and personal lives safe, especially when it comes to digital safety.
This article by RPost, points out that we must be vigilant in not being complacent so that we do not end up victims of hackers just waiting to exploit our risky online behavior, like opening emails that look real, but are really phising scams. “Some sage advice from Yoda: we ‘Must unlearn what we have learned.’” We have literally spent 17 weeks learning to navigate uncharted territory, and like Yoda states, everything we knew before now, we must unlearn and open our minds and develop our skills for the new world we are in. When it comes to digital security, we must ask ourselves, “Would Yoda have clicked on this email?”
