I remember waking up early, eating Cocoa Puff’s cereal, and staying in my pjs until at least noon, because it was Saturday, and subsequently the day when ALL the best cartoons were on! Today, cartoons are accessible every day, 24/7 on a variety of platforms and devices, so staying in my pajamas all day is not necessary. All that aside, with content constantly being pumped out, how can we truly know what is going to be the best or even safe for children? Our friends at Grom Social Enterprises recently announced they are acquiring Curiosity Ink Media, a family-friendly content creator, a producer and developer of original kid-friendly content – to complement the Grom’s existing offerings of brand-safe social media for kids, animation production and web filtering for schools, government agencies and private businesses” Additionally, Russell Hicks and Paul Ward, veterans of Nickelodeon, will step into roles that lead the company’s animation, social media, and educational divisions. Congrats to Grom Social and I’ll be stocking up on Cocoa Puffs for some new content to watch with the littles in my family.
